Nothing in SYOBON is what it looks like. The friendly block is a trap. The power-up is a trap. The floor is a suggestion. Here is what waits for you.
The Fake Floor
A clean stretch of solid ground. You walk onto it with total confidence and drop straight through into the pit it was hiding.
The Falling Block
Walk under it to grab the coin. It waits until you are directly below, then lets go.
The Moon That Bites
It sits on a ledge with a big dumb grin. Get close and it launches itself at your face like a fanged cannonball.
The Fake Mushroom
In every other game the mushroom makes you bigger. This one sprints at you and ends the run. Do not touch the mushroom.
The Bottomless Pit
The honest one. At least the pit tells you the truth about what it is going to do.

Shobon started as a sad little face on a Japanese message board back in 2007, drawn by a creator known only as Chiku. Somebody gave the face a body, a pair of ears and a platformer full of traps, and the suffering began.
He cannot get bigger. He has no fire flower. His entire skill tree is one wobbly jump and an unshakeable belief that this next block is safe.
